One more suggestion for the BHO team, for the next debate:
"According to the mainstream media, I 'lost' the last debate. <pause>
If telling the truth means losing a debate, I'm gonna keep doing it. If they think a 'Gish Gallop' of lies is a winning strategy, that's their choice.
<pause, look into camera>
My fellow American citizens, when you vote in this election, you decide who you'd rather have in the White House: someone who tells you the truth, or someone who will say anything to get elected. I'm going to tell you the truth.
<segue>When it comes to [jobs/tax-cuts/the economy/foreign policy, etc.], for example..."
The silver-lining of the pundits' reaction to the first debate is that it makes Obama the underdog, being ganged up on by the media. He may as well take advantage of this.
(Where is that 'liberal media' that right-wing nut-cases cry about? Pretty much every pundit weighed in against Obama.)
Publicly naming the 'Gish Gallop' flood of lies is one way to put a halt to it. The average American will have no idea what it means -- but the pundits will have a field day, they will have to look it up, and explain it to their audience.
[End of Diary. I've decided to experiment with posting a few succinct diaries. We all have too much to read.]
