I was sound asleep, all comfy in my bed, when I was rudely awakened by the sound of Romney's voice droning on and on, giving a speech. Was I having a nightmare? As my mind started to focus on the words he was speaking from the television in my bedroom, I suddenly sat up and let out a primal scream.
Oh My God! Romney's not running for president of the United States; he wants to be King of the World.
The last diary I ever thought I would write at DailyKos was one on foreign policy. I will be the first to admit that I don't have the knowledge base to write about the subject, but I realized one thing when I was rudely awakened by that speech; neither does Mitt Romney. President Bill Clinton said with regard to the economy and the prospect of a Romney presidency that it would be "Bush on steroids." And now I know that the same would be true for Romney on foreign policy. All the work that President Obama has done to heal our image in the world, Mitt Romney would destroy in a few short months. He wouldn't do it right away because first he has repeal Obamacare and regulations and destroy our country from within before he really gets to work on the rest of the world.
Without getting specific, because I got out of bed and turned it off. I did hear enough to hear him say that the Middle East wants America to be their leader. Even with my limited understanding of other cultures, I know that the Middle East doesn't want the U.S.A. to come over and tell them what to do. And as I came out of the daze of my sleep, I kept hearing, I will ... over and over and over again.
It is We the People; but the way Romney was talking if he is elected it will be I, Mitt Romney. King of the World.
This was not a very nice way to start my Birthday.
