It's really aggravating to see Romney, and now Ryan, lie with impunity. And have Romney steal Daniel Patrick Moynihan's line about "not being entitled to his own facts." The audacity! Yet, to respond is to get into a "he said he said," to be sorted out by fact checkers long after everyone has turned off their sets.
Here's the solution. Set up a series of YouTube videos. Title one of them "Romney calling for 20% tax cut." Have another be "Romney supports Obama's stimulus." We can have one showing Romney as "Pro-choice." Another supporting gun control. One for the Middle East, from that famous video, talking about "Kicking the can down the road."
If we set up a few dozen of these, then when Romney - or Ryan - lies, Obama or Biden can look directly into the camera and call it what it is. Then, he could say, "Don't take my word for it. Google (or YouTube) 'X.' See for yourself. In their words, not mine."
Then, what do you think the spin room will be like? It will all be about the videos on YouTube! It will all be about calling out Romney or Ryan! The spin will be dominated by this. They will be completely on their heels.
That's how to turn this all around. It's incredibly simple. All the campaign needs is the YouTube library at the ready, and to have Biden, then Obama, ready to use it as needed.
We live in the Google/YouTube era. Let's take advantage of this 21st century social media!
