I've said this statement a lot over the past few months, but I'll repeat it tonight. There's not enough money ON THE PLANET to get me to work at Penn State.
Let's look back on past October 9ths. In 1888, the public was first admitted to the Washington Monument. Did the nickname "Father of Our Country" come before or after the grand unveiling? ;D Wish a happy 71st birthday to former Senator Trent Lott. If y'all wanna contribute to the white robe & hood I'm giving him, just let me know. To cleanse the pallet a bit, let's also wish a happy 37th birthday to Sean Lennon.
Let's get SPARKy! :D Check out these foods you can get at McDs from around the world. Are the fries as good as they are here? This is one damn expensive "flower pot." We have a new sighting of "the King!" Hope he's got his papers with him because if the cops stop him, they'll probably want to see them. Finally, I hope to heaven Governor Mittwit didn't get one of these critters!
On with The Rachel Maddow Show...
"28 Days Later" - Ah yes, I will never forget the forlorn faces at FAUX News when they called OH for now - President Obama in 2008. :D And, Keith Olbermann announced the victory {sigh}. How did OH get to be such a damn important state in the POTUS game? There are other states with more electoral votes, and it's all about that Electoral College, boys & girls. Those poor people are getting BOMBARDED with ads; I was in Cincinnati a couple weeks before the 2004 election & saw them & heard them myself. Long lines to vote in 2004 resulted in early voting in OH, and their MENSA SOS is doing all he can to put the kibosh on the affair. He officially appealed to SCOTUS today. Wouldn't it be loverly if they decided to NOT hear the case? Look at all those states where today was the last day to register to vote - my fair state included. This story of OH is hitting the international airwaves, too? CRAP! Look at the Dem voter registration in FL - wow. MENSA voters dropped slightly in IA; Dem went down a whole damn lot. That quote from EJ Dionne was pretty damn good. ;D Nate Silver still looks like a geek. Gov. Mittwit has managed to erase the post - convention bounce President Obama enjoyed. Mr. Nate's probably a damn popular guy these days.
" 'Thank You Very Much, Sir' " - Was Rep. Kill Medicare As We Know It a bad boy today? I heard rumblings of his doing his best $aint $arah from Wasilla imitation. A reporter in MI tried to talk to the aforementioned Rep about gun violence; Mr. Rep apparently didn't want to talk about gun violence. When he was asked about the effect of tax cuts on inner cities, he DID do a damn good imitation of $aint $arah from Wasilla's hissy fits! ;D Are there any "inner cities" in Rep. Kill Medicare's district? Does he know what an "inner city" is? Good character will get people out of poverty, huh? Then, what's the excuse for so many Congress critters & government officials being a$$hats?!
"Nope" - There's Big Bird again! :D I guess Sesame Street is telling the Obama campaign to pull their latest ad featuring Big Bird. Why? He's trying to defend them! All kinds of Sesame Street folk are showing up to campaign. :) The MENA ticket has even weaker math skills than I do if they think they can increase defense spending, decrease taxes on the super rich, hold everyone else's tax rate the same, and NOT blow up the deficit. And, cutting PBS federal funding will do jack & $hit toward that end, too.
"Nope Part Deux" - Gov. Mittwit's having a hissy fit because the Obama folk just won't let that Big Bird thing go. ;D EJ Dionne gets Big Bird duty! He also commented on the MENSA ticket's fuzzy math.
