This is a project that inspires me, a system to extract water from the air for clean drinking water production. Please watch the video and tell me what you think. If you like it, it would be nice to leave your comments on the Alpha Spring Fundraiser Page and spread the word or even donate something..
To me that is also an example of a typical small "hands-on German engineering" endeavour.
In my imagination I could see a small version of this device that might just produce 2 to 6 gallons of drinking water been put together with emergency housing kits to be used in refugee camps or whereever you need it. If it works (and it seems to) it's phantastic.
Alpha Spring Fundraiser Page:
The Alpha Spring system is a new and innovative device that absorbs water from the atmosphere and delivers pure drinking water in huge quantities. The quantity depends on the size of the installation. The apparatus works in manifold environents, even in desserts.
The Alpha Spring design has been progressing for over ten years including extensive research, development work including the creation of several prototypes.
The current prototype has been running for over a year now and keeps delivering more than a hundred gallons of fresh, clean drinking water to Southern Germany.
We now plan on building an Alpha Spring pilot plant where it's needed most in the world.
Some of our goals for the Alpha Spring pilot plant are:
· greater output
· larger size
· serial production stage
We would like you to help decide where this amazing Alpha Spring pilot plant is going to be built: for exmaple, a refugee camp in Lybia, the Arizona desert, a town in the Sahara...?
After successful funding we will start building immediately. It will be a fascinating project developing anywhere in the world where people need it most.
We estimate two years of pre-planning, production and constructing on site. By the end of 2014 the Alpha Spring System will be delivering about 5,000 gallons of drinking water per day, depending on the climatic zone. There will be clean water provided locally for humans, animals and even farming.
