Just a few years ago, USW Local 903 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, was running a food bank out of its hall to feed laid off members. The economy had collapsed, the auto industry was dying, and the Dana auto parts plant that once employed over 2,000 Steelworkers was barely hanging on.
What a difference four years and a new president makes.
Today, our sisters and brothers at Local 903 are back to work, and so are millions of other Americans whose jobs depend on the U.S. auto industry, which is alive and well. The Dana plant is running again – even hiring! This is thanks to the auto recovery package that was politically unpopular but wildly successful. Watch Local 903’s amazing story, then share it with all your friends.

When you hear people saying “the bailout” failed, remember that we owe some 350,000 USW jobs in every sector to a successful auto industry – from paper to steel to chemical, mining, rubber, and more. Thousands more jobs in our communities depend on us. That’s not failure! That’s American manufacturing on its way back. Click here to download a fact sheet about this important issue.
Mitt Romney has a record of outsourcing jobs overseas, some of them Steelworker plants. He said, “let Detroit go bankrupt” and wanted to see the auto industry – and all our jobs – fail.
So this Election Day, remember the man who believed in us and fought for our jobs.
