I spent yesterday at my local OFA field office making calls to other residents here in Florida. I made over 300 calls and talked to 103 people. And yes, I'm going back today and every day from now through Election Day so I won't be writing as many diaries here has I have been over the last few months. I just checked in at the Youtube channel for President Obama's campaign and saw this new television ad that has just been posted. This ad will be aired on television exclusively in the Buckeye State, but that doesn't have to stop you from sharing it via email and social media like Facebook and Twitter.
John Glenn: Growing up in Ohio you learn to size up a person by their character and that's why I'm supporting President Obama. He stood firm against the doubters and help rescue the auto industry. He's taken on big corporations and foreign powers when they threatened our jobs, our freedom, our way of life—and you know he means what he says: that's the Ohio way. Barack Obama has earned my vote and my trust.
I'm Barack Obama and I approved this message.
If you can spare the time, your local OFA field office needs you too. They need volunteers to make phone calls and canvass door-to-door. If you've never volunteered, step out of your comfort zone and give it a try. You will really feel good about yourself knowing that you did all you could to help in this year's campaign.
If you need more inspiration and motivation to get out of your chair and volunteer, please read jplanner's diary Calling for OFA was CONVENIENT and EASY-I convinced 2 people to vote for Obama!. I also wrote a diary about my first experience phone banking, My First Day Phone Banking for President Obama!. Your help is needed. There is no such thing as too many volunteers.
