The murder of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya set off a witch hunt in Congress for political scapegoats. The most pointed comments were made by Republican members and were directed at President Obama, U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Time after time Republicans took potshots at these prominent Democrats, taking facts out of context, and suspecting the worst of motives of those involved. In short, it seemed as if Mitt Romney was running the hearings. A closer look reveals that he may have been.
The Romney campaign runs the Free & Strong America Super-PAC which has made sure to line the pockets of the ambitious pols on the committee. Romney's gang is all over the Super-PAC, from Fehrnstom to Rhoades to Myers to Flaherty. These guys have raised millions from the big banks and then given it out to conservatives who will do Romney's bidding. This year, the bill came due for the Republicans on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
In June, for the first time in history, the Attorney General of the United States was held in contempt by the Republican partisans on the Committee, and last week, Romney's gang went after the State Department in an attempt to bring down President Obama and increase Romney's chances at winning the presidency. A closer look reveals the carefully constructed money trail connecting the Romney campaign with key members of the committee.

These congressmen received a total of $74,881 from Mitt Romney's Super-PAC in the period 2010 to 2012 according to OpenSecrets.org. Romney thinks he can buy his way into the White House, he's clearly bought his way onto the House Oversight Committee, but this kind of blatant corruption is absolutely reprehensible and needs to be condemned.
