I had no idea where Mitt was going with his "Women Need to be home making sandwiches" bit, considering he had spent weeks holed up in his mansions with the best debate coaches money could buy. But it was absolutely amazing to watch him triple down on his Libya gaffes.
Let us remember this moment for quite sometime, the first time a journalist or moderator has fact-checked a Republican in recent memory:
This was the worst foreign policy gaffe since Gerald Ford said the Soviets did not control Eastern Europe be force. Oddly, Ford even invoked the Pope in this, which you would never see today.
The best part about this is the look on Carter's face, followed by the moderator's, both knowing exactly who and who shouldn't be leading our armed forces.
When Obama finally had his chance to address this issue, he also showed why we should trust him to hold the nuclear football, because he is sincere about the responsibility that requires. Mitt Romney just goes for cheap political points using our military and diplomats as a foil, truth be damn.
I can't wait to see Romney quadruple down on this in the Foreign Policy debate, but it is sure to be either damn funny or damn sad.
Or a playful mix of both.
