This is just a quickie.
I just got an e-mail from NARAL asking me to sign my name to a binder of pro-choice women (and men) by Sunday night. They plan to send the binder on to Mitt Romney on Monday. He can add it to the others prepared for him - not by his staff, but by a coalition of women's groups, when he was running for governor of Massachusetts.
Here's the e-mail:
Mitt Romney’s lies about his extreme anti-choice position don’t stop.
Help us tell Romney that we’re not buying it.
Add your name by Sunday at midnight.
On Monday, we’ll send a binder to Romney’s campaign headquarters with the names of all the pro-choice voters who plan to vote for President Obama.
Mitt Romney is willing to do anything to convince women he’s not a threat.
He outright lied at the presidential debate about his position on birth control.
Now, his campaign is running an ad claiming he’s not extreme when it comes to the issues of abortion and birth control.
Let’s tell Romney that we’re not buying it.
Add your name by Sunday at midnight. On Monday, we’ll send a binder to Romney’s campaign headquarters with the names of all the pro-choice voters who plan to vote for President Obama.
I don’t just throw around the word “extreme.” Mitt Romney has earned this label.
He is on record in support of allowing bosses to refuse contraceptive coverage to their employees.
He says his top priority is to repeal Obamacare, which would block millions of women from getting birth control and other critical reproductive-health care.
And Romney threatens almost every day to defund Planned Parenthood.
His position on abortion? Aside from threatening to nominate Supreme Court justices who share his anti-choice views, he said “I’d be delighted” to sign a bill banning abortion.
So let’s deliver a binder to Romney full of women (and men!) who proudly stand by our pro-choice president. Please add your name.
Needless to say, I signed. You can too, by going
here.
