This is rich: David Brooks never ceases to amaze me! He believes in Global Warming but claims the reason for the denying is Al Gore himself Again this is rich.

From the article:
I got my first ride in a Prius from a conservative foreign policy hawk who said that these new technologies were going to help us end our dependence on Middle Eastern despots. You’d go to Silicon Valley and all the venture capitalists, it seemed, were rushing into clean tech.
From that date on the story begins to get a little sadder.
Al Gore released his movie “An Inconvenient Truth” in 2006. The global warming issue became associated with the highly partisan former vice president. Gore mobilized liberals, but, once he became the global warming spokesman, no Republican could stand shoulder to shoulder with him and survive. Any slim chance of building a bipartisan national consensus was gone.
OK Mr Brooks: Let me get this straight: You acknowledge Global Warming exists. That means you must acknowledge the catastrophe associated with Global Warming. But because of the highly partisan tone, you and your colleagues deny the truth because you don't want to validate someone you hate.
What the hell kind of society have we become? A potential catastrophe could destroy the planet but we deny it because of politics! Mr Brooks are you justifying
The article also speaks of the horrible impact of govt subsidies on "Green Technology" but I prefer to not discuss that now and focus on Al Gore. Is American politics that visceral, that illogical.
What happened to "Science" , "Peer Reviewed Studies" "What you see around you" I live in the Hudson Valley where the alarm concerning Global Warming is coming from the Ski Resorts and Farmers (Not a big bastion of Liberal politics)
God Save America from its politics !
