It's your last debate for public office. It's the largest audience you'll be speaking to before Election Day. You've been a good president, and you're an even better man. Show the American people that again tonight.
I know most Americans aren't that interested in foreign policy. After two debates already, some viewers probably won't tune in again.
I know the media will be clamoring to proclaim this debate a draw before it even begins. Give them a performance that doesn't let them, or at least makes it difficult. Challenges Mitt Romney tonight to show why he has a few, if any good ideas for our foreign policy. Remind everyone he's also all but endorsing many of your own policies.
But the debate is about more than Mitt Romney. It's about reminding voters why you were elected in the first place. You're a strong Commander-in-Chief, a measured, thoughtful leader at home and abroad. Unlike your opponent, you're a man of principle and integrity.
We're with you tonight, Mr. President, but this performance is on your shoulders. Make us proud.
(Sorry if this isn't much of a diary. I just wanted to rant a little before the debate.)
