Election Day Two Weeks From TODAY!
Samples of Today's 37 Diary Collection:
[ND-Sen] North Dakota Native Americans Could Decide U.S. Senate Seat by scarletraven - A strong Native American voter turn-out could lead to a Democratic hold of the Senate seat being vacated by Kent Conrad electing Heidi Heitkamp (D) over Republican Rick Berg. Lots of information inside the diary.
[DE-StSen-19] Delaware Indicts Top Republican by kavips - 2010 not-a-witch Christine O'Donnell gave a ringing endorsement to Eric Bodenweiser (R-Teabagger) for the State Senate 19th district seat. Unfortunately Bodenweiser was indicted Monday on 113 counts of child molestation and is in jail, not making campaign appearances. Jane Hovington (D) is now the only candidate on the stickered-over ballot.
[MN-MarriageAmend] Gay Marriage in MN "End of the Human Race"? by sloopydrew - A mailer from a Catholic group claims marriage equality would be the "end of the human race." That's probably news to the soon-to-be extinct humans in Iowa, Massachussetts, New York and elsewhere.

Orange Squiggle of Down-Ticket Power
EDR compiles, describes and links election related diaries for down-ticket races through the closing months of election seasons. Down-ticket means any non-Presidential race.
This group was formed by the producers of a front page diary series that rescued election related diaries in 2006, 2008 and 2010. 2012 marks the first election since Daily Kos was born that there is blog devoted to election coverage - Daily Kos Elections.
Election Diary Rescue is proud to be a part of this project.
EDR chronicles the passion, power and effectiveness of political engagement and shines a light on candidates and issues that might be missed during an action-packed election cycle. It gives quick access to races, hopefully inspires people to write about contests that interest them, and has become an archive for thousands of election related diaries over the years.
The Diary List for this project, founded by sidinny, links all the rescued diaries since 2006.
Format, Tag, Schedule
Diarists can help the EDR mining team by identifying the race in the diary title, for example: (FL-14) or (GA-Gov) or (NY-Sen). Using the "Elections" tag is also helpful. New this year, you can write your first sentence or two as the synopsis you would like to see in the EDR description.
EDR's schedule for mining diaries is noon to noon. Our publishing schedule is in the evening. That means for example if you post your diary at 12:00 pm (noon) on Wednesday, we will include it in the EDR list in Thursday evening's post. If you publish your diary at 11:59 am on Thursday, it will be in the diary collection for Thursday evening as well.
Senate
[AZ-Sen] AZ-Sen: The Progressive Republican Club Endorses Dr. Richard Carmona (D) by poopdogcomedy - The Progressive Republican Club, which is real but sounds like a joke, isn't fond of the Republican Senate candidate this year, Jeff Flake. This club endorses and urges Republicans to vote for Democrat Dr. Richard Carmona. Wow.
[CT-Sen] Linda McMahon tries to tie herself to Obama in new ad by Joan McCarter - Linda McMahon (R) seems to be obscuring the facts somewhat. Chris Murphy (D) is her opponent.
[IN-Sen] IN-Sen: Joe Manchin (D. WV), Dick Mourdock's (R) Favorite Democrat, Endorses Joe Donnelly (D) by poopdogcomedy - The one Democrat Republican Senate candidate Dick Mourdock says he could work with in the Senate has endorsed Mourdock's opponent, Democrat Joe Donnelly.
[MA-Sen] Women: Vote for Scott Brown and he may allow you to blossom by Joan McCarter - Brown (R) may pretend to be in favor of equal rights, but that's not how he votes. Elizabeth Warren (D) is his opponent.
[MO-Sen] Todd Akin calls the president a Commie by Vetwife - Having reached the bottom of a hole, Akin (R) is calling for a shovel. Claire McCaskill (D) is the incumbent and his opponent.

House

[MN-06] MN-6: Help Jim Graves (D) Get This Great Ad On The Air by poopdogcomedy - Besides the great ad the diarist includes a video of, just the fact Jim Graves has a chance of getting batcrap crazy Bachman out of the House is worthy of our support.
[MN-08] MN-08 Nolan (D) 50, Cravaack (R-Incumb.) 43 by WineRev - A new poll shows Rick Nolan quite a distance ahead of Chip Cravaack.
[MN-08] Chip Cravaack campaign repeats assault on constituents, citizen journalists by ImpeccableLiberalCredentials - Cravaack (R) doesn't seem too keen on having his constituents actually attend his events. Rick Nolan (D) is his opponent.
[MN-08] MN-08: Assault Complaint Filed Against Cravaack Campaign Worker by keewatinrose - At least one 8th district resident has had enough of the strong arm tactics employed by Rep. Chip Cravaack's staffers and supporters, and has filed an assault complaint against one of those working on the Cravaack for Congress campaign. Rick Nolan is the Democrat running against Cravaack.
State:
[DE-StSen-19] Delaware Indicts Top Republican by kavips - 2010 not-a-witch Christine O'Donnell gave a ringing endorsement to Eric Bodenweiser (R-Teabagger) for the State Senate 19th district seat. Unfortunately Bodenweiser was indicted Monday on 113 counts of child molestation and is in jail, not making campaign appearances. [DE-StSen-19] omg a Republican child molester?!? by subtropolis - Another diary about the arrest of the Republican candidate for Delaware's 19th State Senate district for child sexual abuse and subsequent suspension of Eric Bodenweiser's campaign. [NC-Gov] Yes Mr. President, NC got your back. Voter enthusiasm in NC in pictures by bepanda - Pat McCrory, who is the former Mayor of Charlotte and current Republican Candidate for Governor, is leading Walter Dalton in the polls by a wide margin. Democratic Governor Purdue is not running, but the Democratic Candidate (Walter Dalton) is really not well known and is struggling to get his name out there.
Ballot Initiatives:
[CA-Prop 32] California's Prop 32 Gets the "Dumbest Donation Ever" by UTBriancl - Diarist, who works on the No on 32 campaign, reports on a secretive $11 million dollar donation which exposes what is wrong with Prop 32 and other attempts at what is sometimes called “Paycheck Protection” as a way to blunt union power.
[CA-Prop 32] The shadowy figures trying to permanently steal our elections by RN4MERCY - Prop 32 will silence the union voice and suppress worker's rights. A lot of big money to get it passed is coming in from outside CA to get this passed with barely any transparency. The diarist correctly points out that for these funders it's not just about California and the unions there, it's national.
[CA-Prop 33] Prop 33 Game Changer by Consumer Watchdog - California's Proposition 33 would raise auto insurance rates for new customers, if passed.
[CA-Prop 33] VOTE NO ON CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 33: CAR INSURANCE by Inoljt - It's the type of proposition in which a big corporation asks voters to change the law so that the corporation can increase profits. In this case the corporation is Mercury Insurance, founded by billionaire George Joseph.
[CA-Prop 37] Westlands grower appears in ads opposing Proposition 37 by Dan Bacher - A California Wetlands grower, who is suspected of using genetically modified crops, appears in an ad claiming Proposition 37 would raise food prices. Prop 37 would require labeling of genetically modified food.
[WA-Init. 502] Musings on the initiative to legalize marijuana in WA by seattlebarb - Diarist is leaning towards voting no because it's a bad idea for the state to try to wrest control from the drug cartels, making sure they get their cut from every ounce.
Various:
[Var] Orange to Blue roundup, 10/22/2012 by Joan McCarter - Report on the Speaker Pelosi Project, Upgrade the Senate, and Daily Kos for Marriage Equality.
[Var-Polling] Daily Kos Elections Polling Wrap: In advance of last debate, a huge polling day confirms very little by Steve Singiser - Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised, given that we are coming off of a weekend and we are heading into a mere fortnight before the election. But today's polling load is simply insane, with a grand total of 97 polls in tonight's edition of the Wrap.

Stephen CLE's Election Ratings - Oct 22 by StephenCLE - Diarist continues his series ranking Dem chances for President, Senate and House.
Yet more lies about voter ID here in PA... by old mark - More voter suppression tactics. The diarist says it best: This is yet another reason WE NEED EVERY VOTE!!!!
