virtually from the moment romney scooped up the nomination from the shambles of the gop primary, it's been #romneyshambles ever since:
#romneyshambles tried turning things around with a summer tour of europe and israel:
in september, #romneyshambles got caught behind closed doors dissing his shiftless and undeserving lessers:
all the while, obama's convention bounce continued to defy the gravity of conventional wisdom:
with the #romneyshambles team getting nothing right, i officially called the race over at september's end, more than a week earlier than i did in 2008:
then an unforced error by obama gave a rousing shake to the etch-a-sketch and proved that a refined orator could still be a less-than-inspiring debater ...
... unlike obama's sideman, who a week later chose to actually enjoy himself in his debate with #romneyshambles' wunderkind:
so with the conventional horse-race narrative once again set firmly back in place, #romneyshambles had to prove his debate "win" was no fluke ...
... but i guess not. ouch! looks like #romneyshambles is back!
which brings us to this week and mitt's no-longer-favorite subject — foreign policy — where mitt seemed to be experiencing some serious debate-induced flashbacks:
and where ♬ all mitt was saaaaying, was ♬ ...
ultimately, this is the way the debates ended:
leaving nothing but air and self-serving spin idle punditry between now and election day ...
