I have never understood why, if men felt they could dictate the most personal decisions a woman can make, why we couldn't turn it around and have us decide which men have to have vasectomies and can or cannot use Viagra and Cialis, or have circumcisions, or wear condoms. If you think you have the right, even though you have no idea of my circumstances to tell me what to do with my body, than why don't I have the right to tell you what to do with yours. Right now, I'd like to see that man, Mr. Murdoch (and what is wrong with his voice anyway, is it a cold or is it something God gave him to deal with?) who just said that rape was something GOD decided. Because God decides this, abortion is wrong for rape.
WHAT? What kind of God condones rape? Mr. Murdoch, you actually BELIEVE that a God has that kind of time to be that cruel and horrible to point down to a woman and say, hey, horrible man, rape that woman, and woman, I am going to let those sperm through that rape barrier (ask Akin, he knows all about it) and you will get pregnant and HAVE THAT BABY. Not in a million years. If this is the God you believe in, I want NOTHING to do with him or the whole concept. This is the same God, of course, that told the Taliban to get on that bus and shoot that fifteen year old girl in the face SOLELY because she wanted an education? THAT GOD?
You think that someone who is supposed to lead us all to peace and eterninity in the clouds, and enlightenment would decide to do something like that? Jesus, the guy that is supposed to be, in some religions, God's son, preached peace above all things and to love one another. He must have believed in RAPE and that once you were raped you were morally obligated to have that child, right? Seriously, I think you men are really sick. Mentally ill. I don't believe in God, and this is the reason why. There is no such fantasy for you men, and this is a fantasy. A sick, perverted fantasy made up to cover up your idiotic need to control women. Women don't need your control, or want it. We want to make up our own minds. That's all. We want the right to make up our own minds. You have it, and we deserve it.
And, just so we can keep this on our minds as we head into election day, and spend every spare dime AND time getting our Democrats elected, here are some quotes from some of the THUGS that said things about rape and women. Take a quick guess what EVERY SINGLE ONE of their political affiliations was, and how many times Romney or Ryan disengaged from them or what they were saying....that would be NONE: This is the "I like to talk about rape hall of shame":
TODD AKIN, (R, Missouri, running for senate against Claire McCaskill)
"If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down. But let's assume maybe that didn't work or something. I think there should be some punishment, but the punishment ought to be on the rapist, and not attacking the child."
Claire McCaskell was more "ladylike in the last election", not about rape, but so damn wrong, nonetheless. Have we not gone beyond at least THIS for heaven's sake?
RICHARD MURDOCH, (R, Indiana, running for Senate against Joe Donnelly)
"I think that even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen." Just a few days ago, Romney taped an ad for Murdoch, and now has refused to take it down. We know where Romney stands...wherever the water is the shallowest and the attention is the deepest, so expect him to retract his endorsement soon as this continues to reverberate.
PAUL RYAN (R, Running for Vice President of the U.S.)
1) rape is a form of conception and 2) it’s equal to conception by consensual sex because both produce life and this is why he opposes the rape exception for abortion.
THIS MAN WANTS TO BE ONE HUMAN AWAY FROM OUR NUCLEAR CODES AND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT GOES ALONG WITH BEING PRESIDENT. ALL HIS BULL ABOUT BEING FOR RAPE WITH EXCEPTIONS IS A LOT OF MALARKEY. HE IS AS BIG OF A LIAR AS HIS RUNNING MATE. I DO NOT THINK HE IS QUALIFIED TO BE DOG CATCHER OF WASILLA, ALASKA.
ROGER RIVARD (R, Wisconsin)
"Some girls rape easy." Good to know that he knows, huh?
Rep. Joe Walsh, R-Ill., "Medical advances mean women no longer die in pregnancies and the exceptions for abortion are unnecessary". The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists called that comment inaccurate since “pregnancy is not a risk-free life event.”
Tom Smith (R, Running for Senate against Bob Casey)
"Having a baby out of wedlock is similar to conception from rape".
Lastly, a list of legislators who voted down an amendment by Senator Al Franken (D-MN) to the defense appropriations bill that would allow abortions for rape in all circumstances.
