Obama For America IS "doubling down" in FL, VA and NC.

Last week Romney retreated to Ohio claiming his campaign had locked up NC, VA and FL.

Bullshit, Mitt.  You're boxed into Ohio and you know it.

And as a consequence, you can't afford to follow through in FL, VA and NC.

Per David Axelrod, "Anybody who thinks those states are in the bag is half in the bag themselves."  He also noted, "We have added millions to TV spending in each of these states. We are doubling down."

Axelrod was telling the truth (but we knew that)!

Last week, OFA spent more money on TV ads in Florida than any other swing state in the country including Ohio.

Obama and allied groups ran more ads in Florida than in any other state during the seven-day period ending Oct. 22, CMAG data show. They supplied 7,937 ads in Florida during that time, compared to 6,323 in Ohio.

As for Virginia?

President Obama plans to hit Virginia hard with Bill Clinton.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/...

President Obama is committed to an aggressive ground game in VA as well

...the campaign hosted 1,012 canvasses and phone banks last weekend across Virginia, and 662 the weekend before that. She (VA OFA Director Lise Clavel) said that, notwithstanding “the misinformation and political spin from the other side,” the Obama team is seeing in Virginia “the exact race we planned for and built for,” and they are ready with the largest grass-roots campaign in Virginia history.
President Obama has racked up 292,000 new voters in Virginia since 2008.
Bird (OFA National Field Director) added that, since 2008, the campaign has registered more than 100,000 African American and Latino voters. Half that number were registered just in the last three months, along with 105,000 new voters under the age of 35 and 87,000 women.
As for Obama abandoning NC (cough-Begala-cough)...

Obama surrogates have been dispatched all over NC this weekend

Jill Biden will campaign in Western North Carolina this weekend while Jesse Jackson has been deployed to Greensboro and Chapel Hill.  Alicia Keys will hold a massive GOTV concert in Raleigh as well.

RALEIGH, N.C. --

The Obama campaign is in North Carolina today, and they’re bringing some star power.

Civil rights legend Rev. Jesse Jackson will visit North Carolina Central University today at 11 a.m. and will then be in Chapel Hill at 2 p.m.

Friday afternoon, Grammy award winner Alicia Keys will push North Carolinians to vote early in Raleigh. The singer will be at Chavis Park from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

This weekend, Jill Biden, Vice President Joe Biden’s wife, will be in western North Carolina.

OFA is making its presence felt in major cities in NC in Raleigh, Greensboro, Chapel Hill and Asheville.

And rightly so, President Obama is now tied with Romney in NC.

President Obama's early voting advantage in NC has been estimated as high as 100K voters.

The presence of the Obama campaign in FL, NC and VA this late into the campaign tells us 1) OFA must feel OH is virtually locked up 2) FL, VA and NC are ALL definitely in play! 3) Mitt is FULL OF SHIT and Obama has him on the run in OH while OFA puts on the full court press in FL, VA and NC.

The electoral math has become nearly impossible for Romney.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
