I've been lurking the Hannity (gasp!!) boards for a few weeks now. When I first went to the site, I expected everyone to be Sean Hannity on STEROIDS... but I must say that over these few weeks, I've been pleasantly surprised every now and then reading the boards. Follow me below to find out why!
Today I clicked this thread. Basically the OP posted a panicked and desperate plea for conservatives to not vote for Gary Johnson and vote Romney because well... Obama killed 4 people in Benghazi/Obama "lied"/we are all doomed if Obama gets 4 more years.... you know, the normal right wingnut talking points.
If you read through the responses, many are not in support of Romney. I somewhat expected that because it was Gary Johnson thread, but when I saw a person with a "NOBama '12" avatar actually considering voting for Obama instead of Romney... THAT surprised me.
Just take a look at what went down:
Buschb:
I must confess, after the 47% remark made by Mitt AND the fact he will start another war..imo
I have thought at great length about voting for Obama.
I'm that disgusted
Conservatizzle:
i am actually with you. Especially after seeing Romney etch a sketch his foreign policy so that it mirrors Bammy's. Obama is bad, but even he [emphasis not mine] is more trustworthy than Romney appears to be.
ddye:
At least with Obama, you know what you're getting. With Romney you have no idea.
Conservatizzle:
Sad, but apparently true. I hate everything about an Obama administration, but he is who he says he is. This Romney character is precisely what his campaign manager painted him to be in a rare misstep of honesty. a human etch a sketch. It is time the GOP learned that we will hold our noses and go along to get along no more. i am serious about this. Very close to voting D for the first time in my life. AZ ain't even red anymore, it is pink, so enough of us could actually matter.
BasicGreatGuy:(quoting Conservatizzle:)
Will you be voting for Obama?
Conservatizzle:( quoting BasicGreatGuy)
If I believe it will send the message that I want to send, I just might. Honestly, I don't know if I actually could. I may just abstain on the Pres vote and vote the senate and house races.
It's obvious to
us that Mitt can't be trusted because of his secrets, flip flops, pandering, Romnesia and flat out lies. Recently reading these boards though I've been seeing the distrust for Romney more and more from the RIGHT.
Obama really needs to take advantage of this and make it a CLEAR point that people know who he is and knows what he clearly stands for and people still don't know who Mitt Romney is. I was happy to see Obama say something to this effect on the campaign trail on how he "says what he means and means what he says". If he keeps this up driving it home in interviews, on the campaign trail etc... he is going to have more and more people from the right/independents voting for him. People KNOW who Obama is and will therefore will be comfortable voting for him vs. the man who writes his policies, plans and beliefs on an etch-a-sketch.
