Somehow, I need an airbag to protect me when I see things stupider than one should have to see.
And when I (or we) say that the wingnut right will say ANYTHING to denigrate Obama, I submit a spectacular example.
Ex-FEMA director Michael Brown criticizes Obama for reacting too quickly to storm
No.....really.
Former FEMA director Michael Brown, who was heavily criticized for the agency's failure to prepare for Hurricane Katrina, has criticized President Obama for responding to Hurricane Sandy too early.
In an interview with Denver Westword, Brown said, "One thing [President Obama's] gonna be asked is, why did he jump on [Hurricane Sandy] so quickly and go back to D.C. so quickly when in ... Benghazi, he went to Las Vegas? Why was this so quick? ... At some point, somebody's going to ask that question."
We start with Sandy and before the sentence is over he's harping on.......... Benghazi.
He is regurgitating the talking point.
He is a republican asshole.
Yahoo news, where I saw this little gem, is a rightwing, conservative news outlet. It's stories are almost invariably right-leaning, if not wingnut soul food, as this article is.
The Wingnutosphere is simply foaming with this Benghazi thing. No matter the story one reads, if one ventures into the Hell of Yahoo Comments one sees Benghazi is related to absolutely everything.
Wingnuts have this dream that they will find SOMETHING that will knock Obama out of office. Anything they can get their hands on becomes THE thing that is going to bring him down, then they chant themselves into a trance stupor and rage blindly about wherever they can type their illiterate screeds.
And so here we have "Brownie' (remember?), a Complete and Total Loser, who really SHOULD be in jail for criminal negligence resulting in the deaths of countless people, criticizing Obama for actually being to quick to respond to an epic storm
Everybody knows Brownie was a failure publicly: but how did he do behind the scenes??.
In emails he wrote that later became public, Brown came off as inexperienced and uncaring. On the morning of the hurricane, Brown wrote, "Can I quit now? Can I come home?" to Cindy Taylor, FEMA's deputy director of public affairs. Later, in a separate email, he wrote, "I'm trapped now, please rescue me."
Yes...this man all sorts of credibility with which to impugn Barack Obama.
This seems just really stupid on the surface, and it truly is.
But...... Brown has been trotted out to reinforce this Benghazi spasm the base is having, and given the truckload of fail that comes with him, this has to be a move or genuine desperation.
