A very brave soul wrote a post entitled "I ain't buying Christie" (http://www.dailykos.com/...). I eagerly clicked on the link, but was greeted by an error message, indicating the post was (sigh) deleted.
See you on the other side of the orange puff of smoke.
I was eagerly awaiting such a post from ANY media outlet because I've seen such a massive personality reversal in the past, but only once. To be clear, I am not referring to the epic non-stop flip flopping of Mitt Romney (he of the "47%" and "I love 100%").
As a New Yorker, I'm quite familiar with Rudy Giuliani. Long before 9/11, Rudy (often referred to as 'Adolf Giuliani'), was known as a classic prick. His douchebaggery is legend. Sadly, most people in this country only know him as the 'Churchillian' (more like 'reptilian,' given his perpetual hunched shoulders) politician who shepherded the country through 9/11.
You see, like most bullies, arrogant republican politicians tend to turn on the charm when the cameras are rolling. Giuliani did this during 9/11, just as Chris Christie is doing this now.
Please do not be fooled by his display bipartisanship. CC knows what everyone on this website knows: Obama will win in November. CC will never have to beg Romney for government assistance. In fact, he won't ever have to ask him for anything. But he'll have to work with President Obama. CC is also framing his own 2016 election run, and he can't appear to be a capable, sober president if he can't appear to be a capable, sober governor.
Like you, I welcome civility from any elected representative. I believe it ought to be rewarded. But I also believe it ought to be pointed out when it might not be entirely genuine... or if it is total bullshit.
P.S. This is my first diary post. Someone had to say it.
