First time diary. Hadn't seen this posted yet, but it's all over the conservabubble today. This is a mockup of a new tax form that we're all going to have to fill out starting next year. Sure looks like some invasive stuff. My favorites are the requirements to complete full name/DOB/address information as well as the question "Are you an illegal immigrant and therefore exempt from the personal mandate?"

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

POS because your one and only reference is to Grover Norquist! Secondly, of course, Norquist's rag lies about what the IRS testimony is and its own link demonstrates the lie.

to think up ways to scare people into voting against their own interests out of fear of governmental conspiracies – and in favor of the very people who are conspiring to deprive them of inherent benefits. It has got to be a soul destroying process. But to be a lackey and spread the word… demeaning.

    HR'ed for it, too.

(note that this is a mock-up made by ATR that has no bearing on reality).

but the diarist did also call it a mockup, could have been clearer perhaps.

  •  Not a troll! (0+ / 0-)

Hey guys- Definitely not a troll here. A conservative friend posted that to FB. I looked around and saw it linked on just about every blog/site for right wing news out there. Couldn't find anything on the IRS site, but it's obviuously and hysterically a fake. Sorry for the confusion...and I probably should have exited the post but couldn't figure that out on my phone.

  •  Massachusetts model (0+ / 0-)

I've filled out the Massachusetts form for many many tax clients. It's pretty simple, and no more invasive than any other tax information like the child care credit form.

If you have insurance, you just put down the policy number and company for each family member, and which months you had coverage.

If you don't have insurance, you have to answer a few more questions to establish whether you had a policy available to you at what they consider an affordable cost (I believe the federal is set at 8% of income). If you didn't, you are exempt from the penalty.

The questions are along the lines of "Does your employer offer health insurance? If so, how much does it cost the employee?"

That's it. No personal information, no medical exam, nada.

Since the Federal law is based on Massachusetts, I assume the IRS form will be as well.

  •  Have you heard (0+ / 0-)

that if Romney is elected, every American will have to allow a Mormon missionary into their homes and listen to a conversion spiel?

It must be true. I heard it on the internet.
