Skeletor Florida Gov. Rick Scott drops his "November" surprise:
In 2008, then-Gov. Charlie Crist signed an executive order expanding early voting by 24 hours after seeing long lines. Scott, too, could sign an executive order, meaning no one would be breaking the law.
State Democrats were none-too-pleased that Scott decided not to extend early voting.
“Once again, Rick Scott has sided against the people of Florida. In rejecting calls for an extension of early voting hours, Scott has failed in his constitutionally obligated duty, broken with the history of past Republican Governors and reminded Florida voters why they continue to hold a negative opinion of this Governor,” wrote Scott Arceneaux, the party’s executive director in a statement.
“The people of Florida will not forget his failure to stand up for their right to vote," he continued.
