I have talked to several people lately who are not going to vote because - and this was said with all sincerity - "there is no difference between the candidates."
That they cannot see any difference between Romney and Obama says more about them than about either candidate.
Yes, I've had my share of disappointments with Obama, and I have flirted with the idea of throwing my vote to a third party candidate, who is never going to be president, to make a point of some kind. Yes, the current two party system is unfair and prone to corruption, but fair or not, it will provide us with a president next week and nothing is going to change that.
More below the squizzle.
So, even if we accept the premise that they are both horrible people unfit to serve, the fact remains that one of them IS going to be president. So, the math is simple: when the choice is between bad and worse, ya gotta go with bad. And Mitt is definitely worse.
But that is not really the choice. The choice is between (a)a shameless, entitled, pathological liar, misogynistic sociopath, serial flip-flopper, and incipient theocrat who is devoid of empathy, unfamiliar with the spirit or letter of the Constitution, and utterly unequipped to lead America in the 21st century and (b) President Obama who, despite not managing to give you 100% of everything you wanted, is probably the best president you will see in your lifetime.
