VERY short diary here. This past Thursday I wrote a diary on an article published by The Free Press regarding some software patches SOS Husted had installed in "vote-counting tabulators" in about half of the counties in Ohio.
A number of people showed interest, many even contacted Obama for America, The Ed Show, Rachel, Lawrence and others.
Suffice it to say, we had a very spirited debate about this.
Anyway, according to an interview Ed Shultz just did with Christine 'Chris' Jansing who's in Ohio now, there are folks that are concerned about these updates, however the Obama Campaign and others are on it.
Jansing said that OFA has 2500 lawyers on the ground, and 600 in one county alone. She said they will be monitoring everything, and if anything looks fishy they'll definitely have eyes and ears to investigate.
Bottom line: OFA is about business and everything, down to the last dotted "i" and crossed "t" will be watched and reviewed.
5:35 PM PT: Ed just mentioned this again, and he's speaking with an Ohio Senator who says that any updates to the system this close to the election are to be scrutinized.
Ed also showed an interview that CNN did with Husted about this software update and Husted said there's basically nothing to be concerned about. I think he said it is reporting software that will enable his office and the public to receive polling results at the same time.
Whatever the case, this software issue did grow legs. CNN and MSNBC are reporting on it. Fortunately, OFA and other activists are keeping watchful eyes on Husted and Ohio.
5:59 PM PT: Here's a noteworthy comment from HudsonValleyMark
* this software isn't on the voting machines (2+ / 0-)
It's on workstations at the county boards.
