I was floored watching John Ford's 1939 classic film "Stagecoach" to hear a corrupt banker who is fleeing town after embezzling the bank's money declare a set of conservative economic principles that could just as easily come out of Milt Romney's mouth (or any other right winger for that matter). He bemoans that America should be for Americans, that the national debt is disgraceful, and that the government is to be damned for over-regulating business. And this was 70 years ago!!!!
