You can tell Jerry Tetalman is getting under Darrell Issa's skin.  There's a reason why people who believe Jerry Tetalman will sense that he's really firing up the race, although it is of course hard to convince these Issa supporters.

Behold is a conversation I've been having with one person today in the Camp Pendleton Patch.  I really should have gone surfing in Santa Cruz or at least dressed up in San Francisco's financial district and talked to a hot working professional woman but instead, I figured I'd nip a bit at Issa's base.  Wait, his base?  hehehe

Darrell Issa is a fantastic congressman, he was my rep when I lived in Vista, met him many times ... I'm glad he will be representing me again in Encinitas ...

How on Earth is Darrell Issa an outstanding Congressman? Please explain and provide valid details other than you "met him many times." Darrell Issa only cares about himself and those who support him, not te 49th Congressional District as a whole.

Jerry Tetalman is a major upgrade from Darrell Issa so consider Tetalman in the same sense as you're getting a new computer: Completely fresh and brand new with significant upgrades and efficiency. Tetalman is super friendly and not even ideological, even though he has progressive views. Tetalman has also been very critical of Darrell Issa as he believes Issa is not pro-military, even though Issa has served in the military. Also, when was the last time you talked to Issa? Hmmm. Been difficult to reach him? Gee, I wonder why. Well, Tetalman wants to put an end to that and keep the communication line open.

Besides, how on Earth is Issa a fantastic Congressman? With his antics at the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee, he's become quite the "honorable" Chairman, except his definition of "honorable" is different than mine.

I've known him since he announced his first run ... You have no idea what you are talking about ... obviously you are a progressive liberal so nothing else matters .. if there is an (R) behind their name, they are evil, period ...

Jay Berman,

Apparently I cannot reply to your reply so I'm going to have to do it this way.

Anyway, how do you really "know" Darrell Issa since he was first elected? Do you know him personally other than a simple handshake and a greeting? Oh sure, candidates when they're first elected can be genuine but there's potential to being serious con artists when they're elected. Darrell Issa is no conservative and believe me, I have family from Ogden, UT, a more conservative community than Darrell Issa's district and all other red districts in California combined. I know a genuine conservative when I see one. Issa keeps voting to increase the debt level when he's Congressman under President Bush's years, then all of a sudden he decides he's going to be conservative when President Obama is president. Yes, GREAT timing you "conservative" you! I mean, seriously, whatever cause Issa is fighting for that's great but even the Iraq War put the U.S. in debt and caused a near catastrophe for the U.S. and world markets last summer during the debt ceiling debacle.

Oh and I'd also like to add that Darrell Issa isn't really pro-military, even though he did graduate from the Army and I respect him for doing so.

And what makes you think I'm a progressive/liberal? I'm actually more conservative than a progressive/liberal although I do have a number of progressive viewpoints. Besides, I don't criticize you if you're conservative. You have your views, I have mine. It's simple

.

Remember Lord of the Rings: Two Towers?  Well, Darrell Issa is Saruman.  Jerry Tetalman is the wise Treebeard and you pro-Tetalman, Kos people, U.S. Postal Workers, and 49th district voters are Treebeard's followers!

And no, being Republican doesn't make you evil.  It's what the party does to you that counts.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

I believe Jerry Tetalman understands that his candidacy is not about him but a movement.  Tetalman has an uphill battle to climb for tomorrow but at least if anything he's done a really outstanding campaign even with the limited resources available compared to Darrell Issa's war chest.

If Tetalman doesn't win tomorrow, he'll definitely win in 2014 (assuming he does run then if he loses).
