1)He knows he will lose the EV BUT the american talibans need a new narrative after the election. This new narrative will be centered around the Popular Vote.Being all over the map including places where he has no chance of winning is part of this strategy. How to energize the base in places like PA or MN to deliver few more thousands votes  could help achieve the goal. It's all about popular vote.

2)The short term goal is of course to create the false sense of competing and allow some pundits to reharsh the horse race for few hours.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

By 2 to 3 percent.  The reason for dwelling on Pennsylvania is to set up this scenario (my prediction:) FL, Ohio and Pennsylvania officials will claim on election night that all three states are "too close to call" (although Obama will win all three) and this will put Obama (on election night) below 270 electoral votes.  Romney will refuse to concede on election night as he should have done, and the narrative will be of a "stolen election" and Obama "barely won," etc.

enough for everyone to go home and for him to give his "concession" speech like he does his backpeddling-in the dead of night.

Think about his position.    He hopes that it is at least close for his own self resepct, if he has any after all the lies he has told.

He will keep playing as if he could win for as long as possible, which we hope will be less than 24 hours.

that McGrumpy followed in 2008 when he knew he was losing. Hitting states (including PA) at the last minute that he didn't have a prayer to win.
