A Tea Party member elected to Congress two years ago is going down in Illinois. He claims women don't need abortions, even to save their lives. And, he neglected to pay child support for his own children and was sued for not supporting his own kids.
His Democratic challenger, Tammy Duckworth, multitalented and progressive, is ahead with 50 percent of the votes counted.
looks like she's going to win!! according to this report from an hour ago in the Chicago Trib.
Bye-bye, Joe Walsh. You are going down. You should have paid your child support. And you should have supported women's right to make choices about their own bodies.
I count three jerks going down tonight. Walsh, Mourdock in Indiana, and Todd Akin, scholar of "legitimate rape" in Missouri.
Joe Donnelly is the projected winner of the Indiana Senate race. Mourdock, the republican candidate, said women who became pregnant from rape had to carry the pregnancy to term because that's what god intends.
And now, for the first time in at least 40 years, god clearly intends for a Democrat to be elected. Our prayers have been answered, Mourdock!!
In October, the republican Senate candidate Todd Akin in Missouri said women couldn't get pregnant from a "legitimate rape" because women's bodies shut down that sort of thing. Whatever a "legitimate rape" is -- no one has ever figured that one out.
I am so glad that women in even the most conservative states are saying no to jerks and their massively stupid statements. The Republican Party chose to bring women's right to choose medical alternatives to the forefront of this election saying they wanted to make it much tougher to abort unwanted and dangerous pregnancies.
Now, finally, they are losing elections.
Isn't life grand?
Women in conservative states are saying "We heard you, jerks. ENOUGH."
Do you hear them, jerks?
