In the "I'm no saint and have a small evil streak" department....

Started Tuesday night at the local Dem Party held downtown in a very blue county in Florida. Brought my attorney friend along, who is registered (R) but voted Obama. After a few beers we decided a visit to the local Republican party could prove to be much more fun (Note - always good to bring along an attorney when the night is in question).

Arriving at a very somber Republican "celebration" being held at a local sports bar, I was respectful and somewhat quite. But when Fox called Ohio... well I was one boisterous boy sitting up at the bar drinking my local brew. Had a number of more than intoxicated Republicans trying to shout me down.

At bit later two good ol' boys slouched up to the bar to drown a few sorrows. One leans over to me saying "This is one sad night for America".

I replied "What? Sad? This has been the greatest night of the year! Did you just see Karl up there on the jumbotron? Priceless!"

He gave me eye up & down, noting the dress shoes, black dress pants, pressed pink button down shirt...

"Oh, you're one of THEM." He says, "I should have known by the pink shirt."

"It's okay," I told him. "and I'm sorry... you're not my type."

Well, I didn't get my ass kicked that night but I certainly had a good time.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
