The election is over.
Obama won. We all know that.
One of our winningest strategies was to focus on the Republican 'War on Women.'
They set their own trap, fell into it, and we capitalized on it as well we should have.
We pushed back against their misogynist bullshit every step of the way, and it cost them the election.
The election is over, but the wider 'War on Women' continues worldwide.
So why doesn't anybody acknowledge the fact that today is Malala Day here on Kos?
More below the fold.
One month ago THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED
Gunmen halted the van ferrying Malala Yousufzai through her native Swat Valley, one of the most conservative regions in Pakistan. They demanded that other girls on the vehicle identify her. Malala had faced frequent death threats in the past.
Some of the girls pointed her out. At least one gunman opened fire, wounding three girls. Two sustained non-life-threatening injuries, but bullets struck Malala in the head and neck.
I've posted two diaries about the fact that today is Malala Day, and only a handful of wonderful Kossacks have responded.
So, I ask you all: Was your concern about the War on Women merely an election tactic, or do you really care?
This Saturday (November 10th) will see Malala Day, a global event to show the world that people of all creeds; all sexes, all backgrounds and all countries stand behind Malala," Brown said.
"We are Malala - This is Malala day. The world will walk in the footsteps of this girl of courage. Malala Yousafzai has become a global icon of hope, an international symbol of courage, a schoolgirl who has won the hearts of millions through her bravery.
I'm disgusted with the puny responses to my earlier diaries (
#IamMalala-Nov-10-is-Malala-Day)(
Today is Malala Day - #IamMalala) and - not for MY sake, but for
hers.
We can do better than this.
You can use the hashtag #IamMalala on Twitter to get it trending and raise awareness.
