I kid you not.  Here is a quote:

Grover Norquist, founder and president of Americans For Tax Reform, has a new theory about why President Barack Obama won -- he portrayed Mitt Romney as a "poopy head."

"The president was committed; elected on the basis that he was not Romney and Romney was a poopy head and you should vote against Romney and he won by two points," Norquist said on CBS' "This Morning" Monday. "But he didn't make the case that we should have higher taxes and higher spending, he kind of sounded like the opposite."

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

Grover Norquist and Mitt Romney are good peoples, not poopy heads.  Haha.  Go tell it to God Grover, he has places for poopy-heads like you.

    2. Romney IS a poopy head.
    3. Grover apparently did not even watch FOX news if he thinks the President did not campaign on the tax issue.
    4. There were many issues that were important in this election and the President kicked the poop out of Romney on essentially all of them.

He certainly didn't talk about "raising taxes" ... much less "higher spending".

Oh yes ... Democratic voters can hear whatever they want to hear in President Obama's speeches.  But if we learned anything from the run up to the ACA  it's  that with this President it's necessary  to parse each and every word he utters -- they don't always mean quite what he knows we hope they sound like.

All he said  is that the very wealthy should pay their fair share ... within the context of reducing the debt and the deficit, while increasing revenue to some degree, somehow.

And that was DURING  the campaign ...

His position has already softened a bit.  It now appears that simply dropping the Bush tax cuts for the top 2% will make the White House happy.  (Promise kept --  legacy secured.)

And if the Republicans have the good sense to ALLOW this symbolic victory ... they can count on getting 66.66% of whatever else they want without too much fussing and fighting.

(Now, if someone wanted to look for a Progressive mandate in this election, they would be talking about the small-donor financing of the Elizabeth Warren and Alan Grayson campaigns).

Limbaugh calls a lot of shots, but no Republican ever signed a pledge to do what Rush wants.  No, Grover Norquist is the Emperor whom Republicans have sworn to obey.

I hope that the MSM reporters amuse themselves by asking senior Republicans if they agree that they lost this election because Obama called Mitt a poopy-head.

Needless to say I hope that the GOP does decide that Obama beat them by negative campaigninig, and decide to ramp up the RedState rhetoric even more the next time.

    •  what to do to make Grover go away: (0+ / 0-)

Get him a royal entourage who follow him around everywhere, dressed in appropriate medieval garb, and try to speak to him using the appropriate formalities for speaking to royalty.

One of them should carry a crown on a purple velvet pillow.

This will make "excellent television" because it's theatrical, and it will make Grover out to be a loon.

The "Emperor Grover" meme will stick like poop on a poopy-head, and he'll become a laughing stock, and then he will gradually become a stale joke and go away.

since the age of 12, when he formulated his current tax plan. On a school bus. (No joke). While it's pathetic to see a grown man-child act this way, it's scary to think how much influence he had for so many years. Hopefully that influence is finally coming to an end.
