I haven't seen anything about this here yet, but found the following articles interesting. The essence of both is that on a conference call to House Republicans last Wednesday Speaker Boehner admitted that they had to avoid the types of nasty showdowns we've seen in the past couple of years.
Members on the call, subdued and dark, murmured words of support — even a few who had been a thorn in the speaker’s side for much of this Congress
Granted, this is a two day old article about a day-after-election call with no quotes, but other quotes in the original article seem encouraging.
“To have a voice at the bargaining table, John Boehner has to be strong,” said Representative Tom Cole of Oklahoma, one of the speaker’s lieutenants. “Most members were just taught a lesson that you’re not going to get everything that you want. It was that kind of election.”
Don't take my word for it, though. Give 'em a read yourself!
