LOL! How many months did I wish I didn't have to see or hear anything about Mitt Romney? I just wanted him to disappear. I was looking forward to the day that I wouldn't be seeing, reading or writing about Mitt Romney. That day isn't here yet, as people are still discussing why Romney lost the election and I suspect we will be subjected to a few more days or even weeks of that. But, I sure did enjoy learning about this website where you can watch Romney's disappearing Facebook friends in real time.
Mitt Romney is losing 593 friends per hour – at least on Facebook today from 10 to 11 a.m. You can loiter on his page and watch them plummet by the second.
Refresh the page – 12.08 million. Refresh again – 15 less. A tongue-in-cheek website, DisappearingRomney.com, has even appeared to track the friend fall-off. It would seem the defeated presidential candidate faces a problem unique to the social media age: The race may be over, but on the Internet his bid for president remains as a frozen digital relic.
Mitt Romney losing (Facebook) friends by the minute
In the short time it took me to throw together this diary, Mitt lost another 162 friends. I so admire the creativity of whoever put this website together. Alas, ten of the people on my personal Facebook friends list still LIKE him. Oh well, more of my friends/family LIKE President Obama's page.
What's really strange is when you watch the page ... it can be mesmerizing ... the number goes up and down. I guess some diehard Republicans have been reading the news about the site, and doing their best to help Romney get his numbers back up. What's the point? He already lost the election.
