Looks like the Repubs still think it's best not to negotiate and to instead keep holding America hostage. ( That worked so well for them last time ).
Looking at Redstate, I see a new column by Erick Erickson:
Can We Replace John Boehner With Paul Ryan?
John Boehner has been willing to throw his conference under the bus repeatedly. We know from the Bob Woodward book that he was willing to raise taxes. We know he cut a deal with Barack Obama without consulting the rest of his conference. We know it blew up in his face.
( So sounds like they were just as freaked about that Bob Woodward memo as we were).
Anyhow, he goes on to say:
House Republicans should think very carefully if the faux-tanned face of John Boehner is the face they want for their party in the next two years. They should consider Paul Ryan as their Speaker.
Nothing like losing bad, and then thinking that the way forward is to promote the fringe wing nuts.
