It is up to us to support the people we elected this year.  We need stay involved. Social media allows us to share information with people all over the country and this election demonstrated that by sharing information so easily we can have an effect on candidates across the country.

AyotteMcCainGraham

With that in mind.....

New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) was interviewed by Andrea Mitchell this afternoon. (video below) She was asked to explain her comments regarding Amb. Susan Rice during a press conference with Lindsey Graham and John McCain. The three senators parroted the rhetoric that has been perfectly honed for angry Republicans by the Fox-Rush-O'Reilly group.

The truth is that Rice was given talking points from the CIA. She relied on the CIA's information and it seems clear now that she was sharing that information as given to her.

But these comments also call into question Senator Ayotte, Graham, and McCain's knowledge about how our country's agencies work together and who is responsible for what. Why are these three senators on the armed services committee if they are going to work against the efforts of our armed services? Why do they remain in office? When are their terms up?

Senator Ayotte's term is up in 2016.

We need to let these people know that we are watching, we know when they will be running for re-election and that we promise to get involved in those elections regardless of where we live if they continue to block efforts to move our country forward in the direction we chose when we stepped into the voting booth.

I sent a message to NH Senator Kelly Ayotte today:(you can too by following this link):

I certainly hope that you will honor the President's nomination for Secretary of State, and if his choice is Susan Rice, that you respect and support her.

The Fox-Rush-O'Reilly audience may buy your criticisms of Rice and her handling of the information she had at the time she was on Sunday morning shows, but we know that the way the GOP machine is describing her comments is misleading and are educating our friends who haven't already educated themselves.

We understand what Rice's actual role or lack there of, was in the whole situation.  It is so upsetting to see the GOP use the deaths of Americans, including Glen Doherty of MA, to advance an agenda. You are clearly taking advantage of the suffering of others.

Please understand that there are many outside of your own circle and beyond the borders of NH, who can effect your election in 2016.

There are a lot of people following each and every Republican member of Congress.

In MA, many of us traveled to NH this past election to participate in grassroots campaigns. We are ready to do that again for each election, including yours in 2016.

We must make contact with each and every Congressman/woman and Senator about these issues, from confirming the President's Cabinet choices, to the "fiscal cliff" resolutions, and remind them that we are still here and we paying attention.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  lots of pick-ups for DEMS in 2016. She's toast.... (7+ / 0-)

and will be one of the DEMS prime pick-ups. She was an UNELECTED attorney general of NH. She won in the teabagger 2010 election. She will be booted out after one term for certain.

    •  I have a deep dislike for Kelly Ayotte (0+ / 0-)

She pandered to the NH Realtors, who court the MA monied set, who buys the Lake Winnipesaukee real estate in jailing Ward Bird.  Thus making NH safe for Massachusetts sensibilities.

Personally, I believe we should work within our own borders, and not export our ideology upon our neighbors - who can, and often do, vote with their feet.

Looking forward to seeing the back of Kelly's head in 2016.

who traveled to NH every weekend to knock on doors for Obama this past fall .... they left their borders b/c we knew Romney didn't have a chance in MA - cause we KNEW him!

For you to be one-and-done in the Commonwealth is notable.
James Michael Curley got re-elected from jail, so even that isn't an obstacle.  Death, gerrymandering, or incompetence seems to be the only way out of political office once elected - and tons of outside money and staff is another way of gerrymandering.

The dozen Obama2012 workers who pounded on the door, pressed literature, and asked to see the step-daughter as she was the target democrat demographic?
          Did nothing to change minds.
The fellow who flew over from the UK (complete with a lovely London accent) to campaign was most impressive:

You do know, a vote for anyone other than Obama, is a vote for Romney?
Precisely what the Romney campaign states about Obama.
Best of luck unseating Mister Harper... as he's a more fitting subject for your capabilities.  Toodle pip!

for who EVER has to follow in Hilary Clinton's shoes as SOS.  Few and far between are the individuals who have the personal attributes and institutional connections to fill those shoes in quite the way she has.

I'm sure Ambassador Rice is a fine person and all, though I don't actually know very much about her.  But whosover she might be, she'll be in for a tough time trying to take up the role of an unusually high-profile and high-effectiveness predecessor.

    Typical crap from McCain....

  •  Was thinking exactly this... (6+ / 0-)

McCain is just a bitter old man now, lashing out because he can.

Graham is covering his right flank, fearing a primary from the tea party. He has nothing to lose by fighting with the President in South Carolina, which remains deep red.

But in watching Ayotte and Susan Collins, i was chuckling a little bit. I don't think they quite understand the two-by-four that's soon to descend on their heads.

Republicans are dying in New England. It's that simple. Brown didn't get beat because he wasn't well-liked, but because WE DON'T WANT TODAY'S REPUBLICAN PARTY.

That is true in all of New England now, even New Hampshire. Today's Republican Party does not fit in with our culture and understanding of government. This is not the party of Bill Weld, or even of the Mitt Romney we once knew (or thought we knew).

can continue to be the clueless idiot that she is. Please.

When we vote her out of office in 2016 I want it to be a complete surprise to her. NH should never have put her in office in the first place.

  •  RICE HAS NOT BEEN PROVEN WRONG (0+ / 0-)

there is very annoying false premise in all this that rice's statement is wrong.  her comments, no matter her source, have not been refuted. nobody to now has shown definitively why and how the attack occurred.
