Both the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections were razor-close, and both turned on relatively small numbers of votes. We all know the story of Florida in 2000. In 2004 a single county in Ohio turned that state to Bush, and turned the entire election.
Conspiracy theories abound. I won't deal with them here.
We have all read about the failure of the ORCA software. Now it appears that this was linked to Rove.
Karl Rove took hundreds of millions of dollars from his sponsors to buy an election this year. On election night he appeared to be in a state of shock, insisting that Ohio was going to fall to Romney. To many, this suggested that the fix was in.
Now a shadowy group called "The Protectors" is claiming that they hacked into Rove's system, and disabled an effort to steal the election. I have no opinion as to the truth of the claim, but it makes very interesting reading.
