Republican Wisconsin State Senator Glenn Grothman is regarded as one of the most conservative state legislators in the entire country.
He's also a nutcase.
After soundly defeating Democratic challenger Tanya Lohr last week in his re-election bid, Grothman told Madison-based radio talk show host John Slyvester that Barack Obama won re-election to the Presidency and Tammy Baldwin won Wisconsin's open U.S. Senate seat thanks to "fraud". However, Grothman gave one last parting shot at Lohr, claiming that the New World Order was behind her campaign!
Grothman's bizarre claim is a blatantly false conspiracy theory. Apparently, Grothman was set off by the fact that a woman from Maryland named "Anne" donated $600 to Lohr's campaign. I thought that Scott Fitzgerald's claim that Lori Compas's husband was behind her campaign was downright sexist, but Glenn Grothman claiming that the New World Order is after him because some woman from Maryland donated $600 to Tanya Lohr's campaign tells me that Grothman is a paranoid nutcase who will say anything to draw attention to himself.
I feel sorry for any progressive-minded person who is "represented" or has ever been "represented" by Glenn Grothman.
Fri Nov 16, 2012 at 8:47 AM PT: Tanya Lohr, Glenn Grothman's Democratic opponent in last week's WI-SD-20 election, responded to Grothman's bizarre claim that the New World Order was after him: "This interview with my former opponant (sic) is both baffling and concerning. At this point in his political career, Mr. Grothman should know that people have to list their place of employment when they donate $100 or more to a campaign. That's
why my sister-in-law, Anne, listed her place of employment, the Council on Foreign Relations, when she made donations to my campaign. And the Council on Foreign Relations is not a secret member of The New World Order. It is a nonpartisan think tank in D.C. that works on foreign issues. They have a website at www.cfr.org. You should check it out - they do fantastic work! I'm very proud that my sister-in-law works there."
