Meghan McCain said today:
Times are changing. The face of America is changing and we as Republicans stand at a crossroads. Are we going to accept the changing face of America and change with it? Or are we going to continue to become more isolated and irrelevant? It’s possible to maintain the core values of this party and evolve when it comes to social issues. Quite frankly, I don’t see any other path to success.
I’ve spent most of my adult life fighting for change from inside the Republican Party. We Republicans need to look at the future instead of living in the past. We have to learn from what the last two presidential elections have taught us. We must accept each other and the different opinions within the party instead of trying to cannibalize people that diverge from an arbitrary purity test. I refuse to let the extremists win. We can’t let the Tea Party bully us any longer. We can’t keep worrying about ultraconservative white male voters. At the end of the day, I still believe I’m on the right side of history, and we can’t let this party sink away. We can and we must evolve. I don’t know exactly how yet, but I for one am ready to spend the next four years helping us get there.
And if we don’t move forward, adapt, and become relevant again, the Republican Party isn’t going to survive. It will just continue to alienate more moderate voters like myself. If I don’t see some changes in the next four years, I’m going to consider registering as an Independent in 2016.

Meghan is on the right side of history, absolutely and she's been a brave voice of moderation in her Father's party.
Her Father's party because they are alienating women and younger people and she exemplifies why they are losing so many people to the extremism and unwillingness to grow or accept defeat. To see that maybe what they are offering is not what people want, no matter how much money they spend.
And then came Barbara Bush, not my favorite person the world...but
But she told Republicans something they need to hear and they have to let it sink in.
"I'm tired now of the elections," Bush, who had endorsed Republican Mitt Romney, said at a forum on America's first ladies. "People spoke. Move on, get on with it. I want to do other things and not to be ugly."
Bush, sporting a double strand of her signature pearls, joined former first lady Laura Bush on a panel for the Enduring Legacies of America's First Ladies conference at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library.
The first ladies avoided offering political opinions, but Barbara Bush did issue a stern warning to both Republicans and Democrats.
"They are going to have to compromise," said Barbara Bush, the wife of former President George H.W. Bush. "It's not a dirty word."

People spoke, move on with it.
Move on with it, how about moving on with the business of governing? Those "giveaways" that Mitt spoke about? Those aren't giveaways, that's called good governance and that's what we need to move on with, running a country and Republicans can decide to participate or keep digging their feet into the ground and denying the fact that they are becoming more and more irrelevant.
They are going to have to compromise. Yes, preach on sister.
Someone listen to these women. I certainly do not agree with either of them on a lot of things, but Republicans, you need to start listening to more of the women in your party, to more people in your party than those old white guys with the $2 haircuts (H/T Tina Fey).
