I'm not pushing any conspiracy theory here. It's one that hubby's crazy republican friend sent me in an e-mail. I wrote him back to send me some links on it because I'd never heard of such a thing and was wondering if anyone here had.
We'd been trading emails for years, he's a republican, I'm a liberal dem. He watches Fox News and still believes half their viewers are liberals. He thought Hussein and Bin Laden were in cahoots, that Hilary Clinton ordered the hit on Bin Laden and now this one.
For background, he wanted to know what I thought of Benghazi. I told him It was a terrible tragedy and posted some links (not to blogs but news sources) because I thought he was setting me up to rag on Susan Rice for lying, or being stupid, or treason or whatever he was about to blame on her. I'll paste a part of his e-mail below the squiggle.
Here it is:
What I want to know about Benghazi is why those people were sacrificed? It's clear that the CIA and the state department knew that place was to hot before the ambassador ever headed that direction. He was ex CIA himself. Not pointing any fingers here, but with aid so close, why didn't we react? There's talk that Stevens was the one that brokered the deal supplying arms to the muslim brotherhood/Al-Qaeda. Maybe the same weapons that killed him! I'm willing to bet that they were furnished with stinger missiles and that's why a C-130 wasn't sent in to end the situation, just speculation though. It's clear that there were several errors in judgment here or this situation wouldn't have occurred!
And scene.
When I read the part about supplying arms to the Muslim Brotherhood, I just about fell out of my chair. As I said above, I wrote him back asking for some links to back up his Muslim Brotherhood claim but haven't heard back. Anybody else heard this one?
7:25 PM PT: I've asked him for his source. I don't expect he'll respond, but if he does, I've got some great material. It's sad, though. Twenty years ago, I thought he was a pretty smart guy. How do people devolve like this?
