If the Democratic Party succeeds in delivering
extended tax cuts only to the first 200/250K of net income,
every taxpayer still gets a tax break:
yes, even multi-billionaire Bill Gates gets a tax benefit,
but only on the very first 250 K he earns each year.
There is a poetic justice here if we could just see it:
remember that famous quote:
“The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread.”
Well here ... all we are saying ...
is that the tax code (out of deference to equality)
will tax rich and poor alike!
Both will only get a tax break on their first 250 K.
What could be more fair than that?
