Frank and Francis Schaeffer brought Christianity into the Republican Party
as a power base to get Republicans elected.
Beck has an even bigger play. He is not just playing on feelings, paranoias and fears of rightwing Christians, he is making an attempt to incorporate them into the Mormon religion. How is he doing this? Well, by promoting clearly Mormon ideology unto the unknowing public in the form of Tim Ballard's "The Covenant" which was formerly known as "The American Covenant" and was a mishmash of Mormon and American history.
Ballard's "Covenant" was rewritten by request from a Mormon elder as a means to be used as a missionary tool to bring in more members.
The Latter Day Saints are not Christian, they are Mormon and their goal is clear it is to lie to the public to get more Mormons. From the above site:
"Re: The American Covenant: One Nation Under God by Elias Returns » Sat May 19, 2012 7:44 am I have read both books. I am great friends with the author Timothy Ballard, and he is a phenomenal researcher. I must let you know that "The American Covenant" was written for the LDS audience, and his newest book "The Covenant" promoted on the Glenn Beck programs was written for those outside of the Church. Also, Tim is encouraging many to read "The Harbinger" by Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, because that book and it's message also talks and teaches about this same great "Covenant" the God has made with America, and the condemnation that we are under for not keeping our part of that "Covenant." Tim's first book that was released last October of 2011 was read by Elder Ballard. After reading the book Elder Ballard asked for Tim to meet with him. He did so, for a three hour visit. Elder Ballard said "that every American needs to read this great book, and counseled Tim to write another copy without the LDS doctrine in it for the main stream, and that through that endeavor it will become a missionary tool." Tim complied, and the doors have been opening up for him. I promise you and everyone else you will not be disappointed, and these works will help wake up those that are in slumber. Tim also teaches what we must do as a Nation to renew that Covenant before it's too late, and the full judgements come upon us!"
Glenn Beck's play is to take disgruntled Republican rightwing Christian, especially Tea Partiers and to turn them into Mormon's by using false nationalism as a basis. We all thought Glenn Beck was just nuts and didn't have a plan. Well, he does and it begins with converting angry disillusioned rightwing Christians into Mormonism. If and when that is a success, they will already be primed to take the next step of converting America into the false and bizarre history presented by Ballard in "The Covenant". And, I remind you these are the crazy ones with a lot of weaponry, so they will probably have no problem using violence to attain their "desired America" which they believe has been taken from them.
