Here's Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) complaining about proposed changes to filibuster rules:
If you take away minority rights, which is what you’re doing because you’re an ineffective leader, you’ll destroy the place.
Can we dispense with this "minority rights" nonsense right now? Republicans aren't a religious minority, a racial minority, or anything of the sort. The Senate majority has no moral obligation or logical reason to protect a group that achieved minority status by nature of the fact that their ideas lost a series of elections.
There are strong arguments to be made for (and against) maintaining a filibuster in one form or another, but maintaining "rights" for the losers of an election is not among them. I'm just sayin'.
