I came across these two videos on youtube.

The first is from the night before the election in which Sean Hannity and guest Ann Coulter confidently explain why Romney is destined to win the presidency.

The second is from the night AFTER the election in which Sean and Ann, with egg on their faces, try to explain how they got everything wrong a mere 48 hours earlier.

I must say this stuff never gets old.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

That REALLY annoyed me the most out of this mess.

    Sandy = Obama's Katrina???

    Deaths caused by Hurricane Katrina...1833.

    Deaths caused by Sandy...121.

In a more heavily populated region.

Think that had anything to do with government response.

    Gas lines...GAS LINES???

At this stage post-Katrina there were still 50,000 people stranded at the Superdome & the Convention Center.

    GAS LINES???

    Fucking Fox News morons.

Yes, there is a lot of destruction and a lot of rebuilding to do. But to seriously argue the complaints about Bush's reaction to Katrina were that the city wasn't rebuilt in a week shows no understanding at all of these situations.

No one expected Bush and the federal government to rebuild New Orleans and the rest of the Gulf Coast in a week. That entirely misrepresents why people were angry.

Coulter is right, well, not in Kennedy's motivation, perhaps, but in that immigration hurts Republicans. It makes very little progress, though, on their problem. Because when you have pundits coming out and basically saying brown people are moochers who are ruining the country, it's tough to turn around and get those votes.

The changing of the demographics does hurt Republicans, as they've built the brand around the superiority of white men and married white women who submit to their husbands' political preferences.

I just hope they keep talking to themselves with their BS so that they don't realize they have to change.  Of course that would mean facing reality.

  •  That entire Hannity intro (6+ / 0-)

in the first clip made me want to punch him in the face. Talk about failing to educate an audience. "Here are some terrible numbers set up by W. but its really Obama's fault."

They will never admit they are wrong because if they do then they are out of a job.

    •  Gasoline price (5+ / 0-)

I clearly remember sub $1.90 gas in early 2009 thinking, holy crap, things are really, really a mess if gas is this cheap.  It was one of the truly scary indicators out there.

For someone to toss that figure around now (which they do repeatedly) is seriously misleading. Is their audience really that stupid?

And the unemployment rate statistic. Yes, for the month of January, 2009 it was 7.8%.

But February it was 8.3%. Neither was Obama's 'fault' but to present it the way he did is another swipe at the intelligence of his audience.

He forgot to mention the stock market. Funny, he forgot his net worth has more than doubled since late January 2009, I'm fairly certain.

        •  Oh heck no (0+ / 0-)

I wish I could help you and supply one. But assuming he is a diversified investor...

          S&P 500 closed at 805.22 1/20/2012 now 1416 - up 77%

          NASDAQ at 1440 now 3011 - up 109%

          Gold $849/oz now $1726 - up 103%

          Fox News stock itself was under $7.15 now it's $24.37 - up 340%.  340%!!!!

I'm sure he had some real estate that got hit and some bonds that obviously didn't double since inaguration day.

He probably has some high roller investments that did better than the S&P.

Plus he draws a hefty salary on top of it all...

          $20 mil/year for Fox
          $20 mil/year for radio - Premiere Networks
          $5 mil/year radio - Citadel Media

It's not a stretch to imagine his net worth has doubled since the trough of January 2009. But I have no proof.

But Hannity is right. He has to pay twice as much for gas now as he did during the depths of the greatest economic meltdown since the Great Depression.

  •  The 2nd video is hilarious, Obama's campaign (0+ / 0-)

played dirty. Really. No it was boots on the ground, while the repugs were slamming each other in their primaries the Obama campaign was out getting people to register, knocking on door. Simple things that the repugs were too stupid to think of doing. Could we call this community organizing. LOL!LOL!

  •  they talk about 'western European countries' (0+ / 0-)

as if they were something bad. I live in Germany and everyone has health care, the infrastructure is very good, the arts are funded by the states, the top earners pay almost 50% in taxes and no one complains and the rich find this is the correct thing to do if you earn that much. Maybe they should think that the approach these countries take is the right approach. People here on the talk shows could not believe that Romney was going to repeal Obamacare. We have had a heath system in place since Bismark and it works. The hospitals are not out to make profits and the prices of medicine is so much lower than in the States.

  •  If these people weren't so... (0+ / 0-)
