Teacher's Comments from Mrs. Cohen:
My Students: Do you remember the first time you participated in a dissection in your science class? Well, my students have not had that experience yet but I would like to change that for them.
I have great students! Our school is a Title 1 school and most of our students come from a high poverty area in South Carolina. They absolutely love the idea of having the opportunity to dissect a frog and learn more about animal anatomy. They are VERY bright students and are eager to learn. They deserve to experience their first dissection and, with your help, they would have a great experience in Science class!
My Project: With your help, my students would be able to experience dissecting a frog in Science class. None of my students have had the opportunity to do that yet, but I would like that to change. They would have the opportunity to become scientists for a day as they learn about anatomy and research. What a life changing experience that could be!
Help my students make a "Hop in the Right Direction"! As is the case for most schools, our school system is working on a tight budget. This being the case, funds for dissection are limited. However, with your help, my students would be able to experience a memory that will last a lifetime. They would be able to learn more about Science and, hopefully, spark an interest in anatomy or other areas such as research.
