?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from your hotlist?
Are you sure you want to remove your recommendation? You can only recommend a diary once, so you will not be able to re-recommend it afterwards.
Rescue this diary, and add a note:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from Rescue?
Choose where to republish this diary. The diary will be added to the queue for that group. Publish it from the queue to make it appear.

You must be a member of a group to use this feature.

Add a quick update to your diary without changing the diary itself:

(The diary will be removed from the site and returned to your drafts for further editing.)
(The diary will be removed.)
Are you sure you want to save these changes to the published diary?

    two polls today

    AP-GfK

    and Q poll:

American voters give President Barack Obama a 53 - 40 percent job approval rating - his best score in three years - and by a wider 53 - 36 percent they trust the president and Democrats more than Republicans to avoid the "Fiscal Cliff," according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today...
Voters 65 - 31 percent support higher taxes on households making more than $250,000 per year, with 84 - 14 percent support from Democrats and 66 - 31 percent support from independent voters. Republicans are opposed 53 - 41 percent.

"Nothing like winning an election to boost your job approval. President Barack Obama hasn't had a score this good since his 52 - 40 percent approval rating May 5, 2011, right after the death of Osama bin Laden," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.

  •  Senate Tax Bill Discharge Petition Watch (0+ / 0-)

FYI - As of Wednesday (12-5-12), a total of 178 House Members (all Dems. of course) had signed the Discharge Petition.  Presumably, the remaining 14 Dem. House members will sign on next week when the House reconvenes.

We need 40 more total to reach 218, which would need to include 26 Republicans.  Still waiting to see who the first Republican will be to sign on, or if Boehner can hold his fracturing caucus together?  I wonder if Boehner's early adjournment of the House this week might not have been partly due to his desire to put a temporary break on the Discharge Petition signing? HHmmm!

If you want to track the progress of the Petition signing you can follow along with me here.

Boehner took him off of Financial Services for lack of loyalty. Jones hasn't changed, he woudl buck Bush on the war, the Gop caucus has. He sees a continuing impasse not good and said he would take a look at signing the discharge petition next week.
