An eight minute video entitled Tax the Rich appeared on YouTube yesterday. Narrated by Ed Asner, this little animation has Sean Hannity's undies in a bunch.
From the YouTube video description:
Tax the rich: An animated fairy tale, is narrated by Ed Asner, with animation by Mike Konopacki. Written and directed by Fred Glass for the California Federation of Teachers. An 8 minute video about how we arrived at this moment of poorly funded public services and widening economic inequality. Things go downhill in a happy and prosperous land after the rich decide they don't want to pay taxes anymore. They tell the people that there is no alternative, but the people aren't so sure. This land bears a startling resemblance to our land.
The part of the video that has Hannity on his high horse comes at the 2:47 mark showing a one percenter peeing on the poors, depicting the theory of trickle down economics.
Well, Fox News wasn't about to let this go unanswered. An intrepid producer caught up with Asner to make him account for his impertinence. He was more than happy to oblige.
Fox News producer: Do you remember the video? Do you know what I’m talking about?
Ed Asner: I don’t remember a thing I said on it or a word I said on it, but I agreed to do it for California teachers. I approve this message.
Producer: There’s a part of it where talking about things trickling down and they have like rich people peeing on poor people.
Asner: How disgusting. It should be reversed.
Producer: So you don’t remember that?
Asner: Do you have any money?
Producer: Yeah.
Asner: Can I piss on you?
Hannity: Pretty classy, Mr. Asner.
That didn't go very well, did it Fox News? Sean Hannity wasn't amused. I think it's pretty knee-slapping hysterical for Hannity to question anyone's integrity. A slime ball of the highest order, it is delightful to shut my eyes and imagine Mr. Asner quenching his fiery rage.
