I am so embarrassed.. I was hoping that it wouldn't have to come down to this, but I've just about exhausted every effort in getting out of this hole that we are drowning in.

I really hate to come here and give a sob story because I know I am not alone in these difficult times, but I just hope you will give me a minute or two, I beg of you.  I am not a well known member on here... but I lurk here daily and I hope that doesn't make me any less worthy of your time or generosity. Behind my screen name I am a living and breathing human being in need of help for my family.

I am a wife and mother of a 2 year old beautiful boy who is the sole reason why I continue to fight this fight. A long story short I lost my job; a great job 2 years ago soon after my son was born. I worked the graveyard shift and the combination of having a newborn and getting only 3-4 hrs sleep a day caused me to oversleep and be tardy for my shift at work. I guess it happened one too many times, ill admit... because I was let go because of it. To make matters worse I wasn't granted with unemployment benefits so I personally have been unemployed since 2010. My husband was just laid off from his job about 9 months ago but luckily during this time we have been getting by with his unemployment benefits and our savings, but his unemployment benefits will be ending this year.

After I lost my job...I have found another way to earn a bit of money and that was through my crafting and selling my creations on ETSY... but that is hardly enough to make a living. I went to school soon after I lost my job and got my license in phlebotomy and Ive been looking for work ever since.

Fast forward to now we are down to nothing in our savings account due to monthly bills and living unemployment check to unemployment check. I recently sold my computer, my camera, my sewing machine and our bed on craigslist. We also got rid of our cable. We have nothing else of value, besides my car which we obviously need... but that is going too. We are driving around on grinding brakes and we can't afford to get them replaced. At this moment... our car is our only hope to getting around and finding work, and therefore earn a living and provide for our son and our family as a whole.

I know it's the holiday season and many of you are buying gifts for your family and friends, but if you could spare a few dollars so we can get some help with our car, Sean and I would be forever grateful. If you would like to help us out my paypal email is lesliecbest@yahoo.com. I don't care if you send $1 or $3... anything would help us out greatly, and again i'd be forever grateful to you and this community. ~ "It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving."

Thank you so much for your time. ~ Leslie

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
