This diary is for anyone who wishes a place to mourn, reflect or express sympathy, not to debate firearms. It has been and still is an extremely difficult day for those of us living in Connecticut.
The guy who sits directly behind me at work was extremely upset as his best friend's two children attend Sandy Hook in Newtown. He finally had to leave and he never returned nor did we hear back from him.
I have a friend who lives in Newtown and teaches elementary school there. He moved to a different house several years back and we lost touch. I haven't heard anything about him yet.
We are all on pins and needles waiting for the names. Two have been released so far. Connecticut is a small state. Each of us already know that we will know someone that will be affected by this.
When I got home tonight and came to DK, I was upset to see only diaries about gun debate with nothing for mourning. When the national news came on tonight with an hour special and I saw the whole country also mourning and our President even affected by wiping away tears, I finally cried. I needed it as someone who rarely cries.
