Last weekend, Liberty Counsel appealed California's ban on conversion therapy on the grounds that it would lead to more Jerry Sanduskys. Specifically, it claimed that if a victim of child sexual abuse experienced same-sex attractions, a counselor would be effectively forced to tell that child that it's because he or she is LGBT.
Well, on yesterday's edition of Faith and Freedom, Liberty Counsel's Mat Staver and Matt Barber doubled down on that line. Staver claimed this law would destroy the counseling system if it took effect because of the damage it would do to kids. Barber then went as far as to call laws to ban conversion therapy "Sandusky laws." No, I'm not kidding.
Don't these yayhoos get it? Sandusky was not gay. He was a pedophile.
