9:35 AM PT: From the Daily Mail  Hillary Clinton Suffers Concession After Fainting

“While suffering from a stomach virus, Secretary Clinton became dehydrated and fainted, sustaining a concussion,” Philippe Reines said in a statement. “She has been recovering at home and will continue to be monitored regularly by her doctors.”

At the recommendation of her doctors, “she will continue to work from home next week, staying in regular contact with Department and other officials,” he said. Ms. Clinton canceled a trip to North Africa last week due to illness.

9:44 AM PT: CBS is reporting the same facts with a better attribution to the State Department press release.

CBS News

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton fainted and suffered a concussion, the U.S. State Department reports.

In a statement issued by the State Dept. Saturday, it was reported that "While suffering from a stomach virus, Secretary Clinton became dehydrated and fainted, sustaining a concussion.

"She has been recovering at home and will continue to be monitored regularly by her doctors," the statement continued. "At their recommendation, she will continue to work from home next week, staying in regular contact with Department and other officials. She is looking forward to being back in the office soon."

9:49 AM PT: Thanks to Lauren Monica for extending our best wishes to SOS Hillary Clinton for a speedy recovery. She needs some bed rest and TLC.  Sorry that my original report and update were only a quick report of the news.

Secretary Clinton has been working incredibly hard for us and I'm sure everyone here wishes her a quick recovery.

9:55 AM PT: This NPR

story contains some new facts, that I've chopped out of the data already reported.

We also learn that the Phillippe Reines who issued the previously reported press release is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, which I cut out here to stay within fair use guidelines.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, who earlier this week canceled a trip to Morocco and the Middle East because she was ill with a stomach virus, is at home recovering from a concussion she suffered in a fall, her spokesman says. ....

CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta says it's a good sign that Clinton is being allowed to rest at home, rather than in a hospital.

Clinton, 65, plans to depart her post soon after President Obama's second inauguration. She has deflected questions about whether she might make another run for the White House in 2016.

10:05 AM PT: At 1:00 pm EST I edited the original post to insert an official state department photo of  Secretary Clinton. .

10:28 AM PT: Get Well Soon Secretary Clinton!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
