I don't post diaries here often. Actually, only once or twice, I think. But, after reading my 'friends' rants about the evils of gun control and feeling sickened, once again, by their depraved indifference to the ever-increasing suffering more and more of our communities are forced to endure, I had this to say:
It's ALL about money. It's not about your right to own a gun. It's not about the 2nd ammendment. It's about the gun manufacturers and their lobbyists preying on irrational fears of government takeovers and loss of 'freedom' in order to increase sales and maximize profits for themselves. The right to bear arms is antiquated and inappropriate for the times and the makers of firearms should no longer be able to invoke it to assure that their rights to make money are greater than our rights to be safe. Don't be fooled. They don't care about your 2nd ammendment rights. They use that to get you all fired up (no pun intended) and defend the selling of weapons that serve no purpose other than to kill, kill a lot, and kill quickly.
Bellyache all you want. No one is going to take away your hunting rifles and handguns. But until we, as a nation, make the safety of our citizens a priority over the profits of gun manufacturers, the blood of those victims is on all our hands.
Rant over. Unfortunately, I don't feel any better.
